New Nonpartisan Caucus Formed by Young North Dakota Legislators in Pursuit of Unity – InForum

A new nonpartisan coalition called the Future Caucus is working to combat polarized politics by uniting young state lawmakers in North Dakota. This initiative, established in 2013 in Washington, D.C., aims to bring together millennial and Generation Z legislators from both Republican and Democrat parties to promote compromise in the lawmaking process. The North Dakota chapter of the caucus includes Rep. Dawson Holle, Rep. Jayme Davis, Sen. Claire Cory, and Sen. Ryan Braunberger.

These lawmakers have joined the caucus to focus on finding common ground on various bipartisan issues important to the state, such as supporting Indigenous communities and regulating agriculture and energy industries. By collaborating across party lines, they hope to renew public faith in elected officials and promote unity in decision-making. The president and CEO of Future Caucus, Layla Zaidane, commended the members for setting aside political differences and working together for the betterment of North Dakota. This alliance represents a step towards bridging divides and fostering a more cooperative legislative process.
