The South Dakota State football team, under the leadership of new head coach Dan Jackson, will conclude its first series of practices with the annual Spring Game on Saturday. The intrasquad scrimmage will feature offensive and defensive units divided into teams, with a scoring system in place to determine the winner. Jackson praised the team’s progress over the past 40 days, focusing on building camaraderie and mastering the basics. The coaching staff has also been praised for their efforts in helping players improve and learn new skills.

The Spring Game will be held at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex, with radio coverage available on WNAX 570 AM and online. The team is gearing up for the 2025 season opener against Sacramento State on August 30. Season tickets for Jackrabbit football are currently on sale.

Jackson, who had to rebuild both the roster and coaching staff, expressed pride in the team’s development. The players have shown improvement in all position groups, and Jackson is confident in the coaching staff’s ability to challenge and educate the team. Fans and supporters are encouraged to attend the Spring Game to witness the team’s progress and preparation for the upcoming season.
