Valley City State University, in collaboration with the Barnes County Historical Society and “What in the World is Going On?” is hosting Earth Week events from April 21-24 in Valley City. The events aim to educate the community about environmental issues and were revived after being put on hold during the pandemic. The lineup includes talks on topics such as soils, carbon, climate change, regenerative grazing concepts, solar projects, and light pollution. A screening of the film “The Jungle” by Emmy-nominated director Matt Wechsler will also take place. Additionally, a presentation on light pollution by Patrick Sommers of DarkSky International will be part of the program. All events are free and open to the public, and all venues are handicapped accessible. For more information, contact Wes Anderson at the Barnes County Historical Society. Earth Week provides an opportunity for the community to come together and learn about important environmental issues that impact our planet.
