The University of Jamestown softball team faced off against Division 1 University of North Dakota and put up a strong fight in both games of their doubleheader. In the first game, the Jimmies scored first with an RBI single by Kayla Quintanilla but ultimately fell short, losing 3-1. Lauren Weigel, Kylie Yanzuk, and Kaitlin McCartney also contributed hits in the game. The second game saw North Dakota score two runs in the fourth inning and an additional run in the fifth, resulting in a 3-0 victory over Jamestown. Trinity Gregg and Lauren Weigel had notable performances at the plate. Pitcher Abby Blair, despite a strong effort, took the loss in both games. The Jimmies look to bounce back in their upcoming conference doubleheader against Valley City State University on Saturday. The team currently holds a record of 24-11, with high hopes for the remainder of the season.
