JACKS START BUSY WEEK WITH TWO MID-WEEK GAMES

South Dakota State University’s Erv Huether Field has undergone a transformation in 2025 with the installation of a fully synthetic turf playing surface. This privately financed project, done in coordination with improvements at the adjacent Jerald T. Moriarty Field for softball, is set to be dedicated on April 11 before the Jackrabbits’ game against Omaha.

The upgrade is expected to enhance recruiting and player development, providing more consistent playing and practice conditions for the team. Meanwhile, left-hander Reece Arbogast was honored as the Kwik Star Summit League Co-Peak Pitcher of the Week after a strong start to the season. The team, led by head coach Rob Bishop, has been picked to finish fifth in the upcoming Summit League baseball race.

Additionally, the Jackrabbits have a history of success in The Summit League, consistently winning and qualifying for the conference postseason tournament. The team has also shown a significant improvement in power numbers in recent years, leading the league in home runs and slugging percentage. With a roster featuring a mix of experienced players and promising freshmen, the Jackrabbits are gearing up for an exciting season ahead.
