A fire broke out at Americas Best Value Inn in Grand Forks early Sunday morning, but fortunately, no injuries were reported. The Grand Forks Fire Department responded to a general fire alarm at 5:04 a.m. and upon arrival, they saw smoke, prompting them to upgrade to a full alarm. It was discovered that a malfunctioning bathroom fan caused the fire, which was quickly extinguished with minimal damage confined to the unit where it started. Fortunately, there was no one inside the room at the time of the incident. The fire department deployed five engines, one truck, a command vehicle, and 17 personnel to respond to the fire. Altru and the Grand Forks Police Department also provided assistance. The incident highlights the importance of fire safety measures in hotels and the swift response of emergency services in preventing any casualties.
