Hawks secure victory over Kansas City with 4-1 win on Sunday


North Dakota softball secured a 4-1 victory over Kansas City to complete a series sweep, earning their 20th win of the season and improving their league record to 5-4. Freshman pitcher Tehya Armstrong was dominant, nearly going the distance by allowing only two hits and four walks in 6.2 innings. The Hawks’ offense was led by Hailey Bethune, who recorded a 3-for-3 effort at the plate, and Taya Hopfauf, who contributed two hits.

The win marked the Hawks’ best start to Summit League play since becoming a member in 2019. Bethune and Hopfauf continued to shine at the plate, while Armstrong improved her record to 4-0 and Makaela Carr secured her sixth save of the season. UND remains undefeated at Albrecht Field with a 3-0 record.
