DOGE in North Dakota inches closer to becoming a reality

North Dakota’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is one step closer to becoming a reality as the state Senate recently passed House Bill 1442 by a vote of 41-4. The bill aims to create a legislative task force on government efficiency with 10 members representing various entities including the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, Chief Operating Officer for the Governor’s Office, a statewide elected official, a North Dakota resident, and members from both legislative bodies.

The bill now moves back to the House for a vote, and if approved, it will be sent to Governor Kelly Armstrong for final approval. The goal of the DOGE is to streamline government operations and improve efficiency in North Dakota. This initiative has gained bipartisan support in the state legislature and is seen as a positive step towards better governance. Stay tuned for further updates on the progress of the bill as it moves through the legislative process.
