St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Grand Forks Cancelled on Saturday – Grand Forks Herald

The Grand Forks St. Patrick’s Day Parade, scheduled for March 15, has been canceled due to anticipated severe weather conditions, according to event organizer Roger Schmitz. The cancellation was prompted by the expected snow and high winds in the area on Saturday. Despite the cancellation of the parade, several downtown bars are still planning to host the “Leprechaun Loop” event after 3 p.m. This event, organized by the Grand Forks Masons and Kem Shriners, provides an alternative option for individuals to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in a festive atmosphere.

The decision to cancel the parade prioritizes the safety and well-being of participants and attendees in light of the inclement weather forecast. Pamela Knudson, a features and arts/entertainment writer for the Grand Forks Herald, reported on the cancellation and highlighted the alternative event options available for the community.
