North Dakota softball team avenged their Friday afternoon loss to Dartmouth with a 3-1 victory on Saturday. Pitchers Tehya Armstrong and Makaela Carr combined for nine strikeouts in the game. Armstrong pitched 5.2 innings, allowing just one run, while Carr pitched the final 1.1 innings. UND scored the game’s first run in the opening inning and added two more runs in the second and last at-bat. Katelyn Neumayer and Callie Honig had key hits in the game.
This win marks the sixth instance this season where the Hawks have beaten a team after losing to them in the same weekend. Armstrong pitched a career-high 5.2 innings in the game. Neumayer recorded three hits, Joten extended her reached base streak to 12 games, and Honig’s hit streak extended to seven games.
Next, North Dakota will turn their attention to Summit League play as they travel to Vermillion for a three-game series with South Dakota. The action will include a Saturday doubleheader and a Sunday finale. The Hawks now have a season record of 15-14 and will look to continue their success in conference play.
