Keegan Kempf has been named the new Director of Operations for the University of South Dakota football program, as announced by head coach Travis Johansen. With a background in organizational skills and commitment to excellence, Kempf is expected to elevate the team as they aim to excel in FCS football.
Starting as a football operations assistant at UNC in 2023, Kempf quickly rose to the position of Assistant Director of Football Operations, where he managed various aspects of the program including travel arrangements, scheduling, and working closely with the coaching staff. Prior to his time at UNC, Kempf served as a football operations graduate assistant at the University of Utah and had volunteer and intern roles at Ohio State and the University of Ohio, respectively.
A graduate of Ohio State with a degree in business administration, Kempf also earned a master’s degree in finance from the University of Utah.
