NCAA Wrestling Tournament Brackets Released


South Dakota State University’s Bennett Berge has secured the No. 5 seed at 184 pounds for the upcoming NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships. The school has a record nine wrestlers qualifying for the national tournament, the most in its history. Berge, a redshirt sophomore, will face off against No. 28 Dennis Robin in the first round.

Cade DeVos, a senior from Altoona, Iowa, received the 13 seed, while Tanner Jordan, a returning All-American, received the 23 seed at 125 pounds. Zach Glazier, Cobe Siebrecht, and Derrick Cardinal also secured seedings at 197, 157, and 133 pounds, respectively.

Glazier, a sixth-year senior, finished third at the Big 12 Championships and will face No. 19 Andy Smith from Virginia Tech. Siebrecht, a transfer from Iowa, received the No. 19 seed after finishing as the runner-up at the Big 12 Championships. Cardinal, a junior, qualified for his second NCAA Championships.

First-time qualifiers Julian Tagg, Drake Rhodes, and Luke Rasmussen received seedings of 18, 14, and 25, respectively. The NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships will take place on March 20-22 in Philadelphia, Pa., with video coverage available through the ESPN family of networks. South Dakota State University’s wrestling team is ready to showcase their talent on the national stage.
