Ty Vaughn, a 31-year-old man from Texas, has been charged with the murder of his fiancé, Luis David Banos Norberto, after Banos was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head in their Baytown apartment. Vaughn had reportedly searched online for the legal consequences of a “legal citizen” killing an “illegal immigrant” before Banos’ death. Police arrested Vaughn after inconsistencies were found in his testimony about the events leading up to Banos’ death.
Authorities believe that Vaughn staged the scene to look like a suicide after shooting Banos with a lever action rifle.
