Small Plane Crash in Pennsylvania Leaves 5 Injured in Residential Area

All five people on board a small plane that crashed in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, survived and were taken to hospitals, with their conditions unknown. The crash occurred in a residential area, damaging five vehicles but causing no injuries on the ground. The plane, a Beechcraft Bonanza, had just taken off from Lancaster Airport before crashing in the Brethren Village retirement community. Emergency crews responded quickly to multiple fires at the scene. The aircraft skidded about 100 feet on impact but managed to avoid hitting any structures. Residents in the area were initially advised to shelter in place as a precaution. The plane was scheduled to fly to Springfield, Ohio, and air traffic control radio indicated that there was an open door on the aircraft shortly after takeoff. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are conducting an investigation into the crash. Despite the damage caused, the fact that all five people on board the plane survived and no one on the ground was hurt has been seen as a positive outcome by officials. The aircraft, a single-engine model introduced in 1947, is registered to an entity in Manheim, Pennsylvania.
