Two horses were tragically killed in a crash at an intersection in Ward County, North Dakota. The incident occurred when a 34-year-old woman driving a pickup truck hauling a stock trailer with three horses was struck by a 20-year-old man driving a van on Highway 23 who failed to yield at the intersection of Highways 83 and 23. The pickup driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to Trinity Hospital for treatment, while the van driver was unharmed.
The pickup driver was reportedly en route to horse shows and rodeos in Valley City and Huron. Two of the horses involved in the crash died at the scene, while the third horse was transported away from the crash site. The North Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
