UND’s Eaglestaff scores 51 points in stunning victory over SDSU with ice cold shooting

North Dakota’s Treysen Eaglestaff made history by scoring a Summit League Tournament record 51 points, leading his team to an 85-69 victory over South Dakota State. The Fighting Hawks were able to overcome a double-digit deficit with Eaglestaff’s impressive performance, fueled by his 8-for-18 shooting from 3-point range. South Dakota State struggled with shooting, hitting a season-low 31.3% from the field and going 3-for-29 from beyond the arc.

Despite Oscar Cluff’s strong performance of 27 points and 17 rebounds for the Jackrabbits, they couldn’t contain Eaglestaff and North Dakota. The Fighting Hawks also had contributions from Eli King and Amar Kuljuhovic, helping secure the win and advance to the Summit League semifinals.

North Dakota improved to 12-20 overall on the season, while South Dakota State’s season came to a close with a 20-12 record. The game was a thrilling display of talent, with Eaglestaff’s record-breaking performance showcasing his skills on the court.
