Make-A-Wish ND launches Miles Donation Drive to Help Wish Kids Fly

Make-A-Wish North Dakota is launching its annual Wishes-In-Flight Miles Drive on March 3 to assist wish kids and their families in traveling for life-changing experiences. With over 75% of wishes involving travel, airline miles are a crucial resource for the organization. Due to limited direct flight options in North Dakota, trips require more miles than in other parts of the country, with an estimated 10 million miles needed each year to send families to destinations like Hawaii and Walt Disney World.

President and CEO Billi Jo Zielinski emphasizes the importance of frequent flier donations in making life-affirming wishes come true. One wish kid named Jack was able to travel to Disney World and create his own lightsaber at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge thanks to donated miles. Frequent fliers with Delta or United Airlines can donate miles through the ndmilesforsmiles.wish.org website or by calling 800-362-9474.

The impact of these donations allows wish kids to take flight without the added worry of airfare costs. Donated miles never expire, so even small contributions can make a significant difference in helping North Dakota wish kids experience unforgettable journeys.
