Marquette Men’s Tennis Displays Promising Talent but Falls short against North Dakota – Marquette Wire

In a hard-fought weekend series, Marquette men’s tennis team faced off against North Dakota and ultimately dropped both matches to the Fighting Hawks. Despite a valiant effort, the Golden Eagles were unable to secure a victory, with North Dakota clinching both wins.

The first match on Friday saw Marquette fall behind early after losing the doubles point. First-year TJ Ryerson managed to tie the match at 1-1 with a win at the No. 4 singles position, but North Dakota ultimately emerged victorious with a 4-2 team win.

In the rematch on Saturday, Marquette showed resilience by securing their first doubles point of the season. However, North Dakota went on to win the singles contests, clinching the team victory once again.

Moving forward, Marquette will face Big Ten rivals Wisconsin and Northwestern in upcoming matches. The team is looking to bounce back from their recent losses and secure some key wins in the weeks ahead.

The Golden Eagles will take on Wisconsin on Feb. 27 at the Sprovieri Tennis Complex, followed by a matchup against Northwestern on Mar. 1. Fans are eager to see how Marquette will fare against these tough opponents as they continue their season.
