Despite Larkins scoring record 47 points, USD falls to NDSU in Summit League matchup


Grace Larkins of the South Dakota women’s basketball team made history by becoming the first player to score two 40-point games in the program’s history. In a game against North Dakota State, Larkins scored a record-breaking 47 points, surpassing Mandy Koupal’s previous record of 40 points. Despite Larkins’ impressive performance, the Coyotes ultimately fell to NDSU with a final score of 75-65. Larkins’ scoring prowess has placed her as the third-highest scorer in school history with 1,967 points. The team’s record for the season now stands at 10-15, with a 4-7 conference play record.

In addition to Larkins, Carley Duffney and Gabby Wilke also contributed to the Coyotes’ efforts with six and five points respectively. The team will be playing their next game at home against Kansas City for the program’s annual Pink Game. Jerseys from players 10, 21, 33, and 41 will be up for auction during the game.
