BROOKLYN MEYER NAMED TOP 10 CENTER OF THE YEAR

South Dakota State University junior Brooklyn Meyer has been named a Top 10 candidate for the Lisa Leslie Award, recognizing the top centers in Division I women’s college basketball. Meyer leads her team in scoring with 17.7 points per game and has an impressive .631 shooting percentage. She has helped lead the Jackrabbits to a 20-3 record and a 10-game win streak in the Summit League. Meyer is the only mid-major player on the Lisa Leslie watch list.

Fans can participate in Fan Voting to help select the finalists for the award. The winner will be selected in late March by a committee of college basketball personnel. In addition to the Lisa Leslie Award, South Dakota State senior Oscar Cluff was also named a top 10 candidate for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Award.

The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association and the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame are presenting these awards to recognize outstanding performances in women’s college basketball. For more information and updates on the awards, visit hoophallawards.com.
