Truck driver accused of ‘careless’ driving following snow-plow truck rollover in North Dakota


A snow plow driver in North Dakota sustained serious injuries after a Freightliner lost control and crashed into the plow truck on Highway 2, flipping it over. The incident occurred during light snowfall, with the plow truck being pushed into a guard rail by the Freightliner. The driver of the plow truck was transported with serious injuries, while the Freightliner driver was uninjured and cited for careless driving around snow-removal equipment. The Freightliner belongs to a local salvage company with 24 drivers and 35 power units. The crash took place in an area under winter weather advisories as colder-than-normal weather and winter storms affect Northern regions of the country.

In Louisiana, a joint enforcement blitz by three divisions of the State Police and the Department of Transportation and Development focused on commercial vehicle inspections to combat human trafficking. The enforcement detail, in response to Human Trafficking Prevention Month, utilized a helicopter with the Trakka System to identify unsafe operating CMVs. DOTD Police controlled vehicle access at their facility, directing enforcement efforts.
