The SDSU Women’s Team Stages Second-Half Comeback to Secure Victory against North Dakota


The South Dakota State women’s basketball team managed to come back from an eight-point halftime deficit to beat North Dakota 66-45 in a thrilling game at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center. Led by Brooklyn Meyer’s impressive 19 points, the Jackrabbits turned things around in the second half, shooting a blistering 74 percent from the field. Haleigh Timmer also reached a milestone in the game, scoring her 1,000th career point and becoming the 44th member of the SDSU’s 1,000 point club.

The Jackrabbits’ defensive efforts were also key to their victory, forcing the Fighting Hawks into 27 turnovers which resulted in 27 points for SDSU. With this win, SDSU improved to 20-3 overall and remained undefeated in Summit League action at 10-0. The team has now achieved at least 20 wins for the 14th consecutive year.

Looking ahead, South Dakota State will host Oral Roberts on Saturday at 11 a.m. at First Bank & Trust Arena in Brookings. The Jackrabbits will aim to continue their winning streak and solidify their position as a top contender in the Summit League.
