Family Honors Memory of Thompson Teacher Who Passed Away Unexpectedly: “I’ll Never Be Whole Again”

Thompson, North Dakota – The community of Thompson is mourning the sudden loss of beloved elementary school teacher, Christa Schneider. Christa passed away on February 3, 2025, after a battle with the flu that led to bronchitis and pneumonia. She leaves behind a husband, two sons, and a community who adored her.

Christa was described as an incredible person by her husband Cullen, who met her in 2001 and fell in love at first sight. The couple raised two boys together and shared a passion for fostering animals, caring for nearly 50 dogs over the years.

As a first-grade teacher at Thompson Elementary School, Christa touched the lives of countless young students who remember her kindness and warmth. A visitation and celebration of life are planned for Sunday, February 9, with a request for attendees to wear NFL team clothing in honor of Christa’s love for the game.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Journey Home Animal Rescue or the Christa Schneider Legacy of Learning Fund at Thompson Elementary School. The family is grateful for the support from the hospital staff and community during this difficult time.
