22 New Players Join Jackrabbit Football Team on Signing Day


South Dakota State University’s football program, under the leadership of first-year head coach Dan Jackson, recently announced the signing of 12 high school standouts who will be joining the team in the fall. Coach Jackson expressed pride in the recruiting class, highlighting their depth, talent, athleticism, and toughness.

The signees include players such as Corey Blair Jr., a running back from North Carolina, Daniel Bradley, a defensive lineman from Florida, and Calvin Hughley Jr., a running back from Alabama. Each player brings unique skills and accomplishments to the team, with a focus on academic excellence as well.

Among the new recruits is Corey Blair Jr., who excelled in both academics and athletics in high school, averaging over 10 yards per carry and earning all-state honors. Another standout is Daniel Bradley, who set a single-season sacks record at his high school and was recognized as an All-Star defensive lineman.

In addition to the 12 signees, Coach Jackson also announced the acceptance of 10 other prep standouts to South Dakota State University’s football program. The team had a successful 2024 season, finishing with a 12-3 record and earning a share of the Missouri Valley Football Conference title.

The Jackrabbits, who won back-to-back FCS national titles in 2022 and 2023, are looking forward to the upcoming season with a roster of talented newcomers ready to make an impact on the field. Further announcements regarding transfers into the program are expected in the coming days.
