North Dakota IT department offers support for individuals affected by PowerSchool data breach – InForum


North Dakota residents impacted by a recent PowerSchool breach are urged to protect their personal information and finances by North Dakota Information Technology. The breach, discovered on Dec. 28, 2024, involved the unauthorized exportation of personal data through PowerSource. Information exposed includes names, contact details, Social Security numbers, and more. West Fargo and Moorhead school districts were among those affected, with NDIT still assessing the breach’s scope. PowerSchool will notify affected individuals and offer identity protection. Residents can enroll in the protection by May 30 and should monitor financial accounts for suspicious activity. A credit freeze can also be requested. North Dakota officials are also working to determine the extent of the breach in schools across the state.
