Soil health pioneer Gabe Brown and advocate Sarah Vogel have been chosen as the 2025 inductees to the North Dakota Agricultural Hall of Fame. Brown, known for his work in regenerative agriculture, has been influential in developing conservationist practices and mentoring producers globally. Vogel, the first woman to be elected as North Dakota’s Commissioner of Agriculture, is recognized for her efforts in protecting the rights of family farmers during the 1980s economic farm crisis. She successfully led a national class-action lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Agriculture, resulting in fair appeals processes for USDA programs. Vogel’s book “The Farmer’s Lawyer” details her work on the landmark Coleman vs. Block case. The North Dakota Agricultural Hall of Fame, established in 1997 to honor those who have made significant contributions to the state’s agriculture industry, will officially induct Brown and Vogel on March 5, 2025, during the North Dakota Winter Show in Valley City.
