Recently, a tragic midair collision in Colorado claimed the lives of numerous individuals, including several prominent figures in the figure skating community. Among the victims were well-known skating coaches Natalya Gudin and Alexandr Kirsanov, who were en route to a National Development Camp in Wichita, as well as skater Inna Volyanskaya. The crash also took the lives of avid figure skating supporters such as Roger Haynos, his wife Stephanie, and their son Cory, who had retired early to support his son’s skating career. The Livingston family, consisting of parents Donna and Peter, and daughters Everly and Alydia, also lost their lives in the crash. Other victims included labor union members, law professionals, and individuals such as Lori and Robert Schrock, Wendy Jo Shaffer, and Kiah Duggins. Elizabeth Keys, an attorney known for her warmth and humor, and her colleague Sarah Lee Best were also among the victims. The tragic loss of Asra Hussain, who was returning from a routine business trip, has left her husband, Hamaad Raza, devastated. These individuals were loved by many and will be deeply missed by their families, friends, and communities. The collision not only shattered families but also plunged the figure skating world and other communities into mourning for the bright futures that were lost in the tragedy.
