Florida educators arrested for hosting wild teen party at principal’s home, police report

A teenage house party in Florida hosted by a Cocoa Beach High School student at the home of Roosevelt Elementary School Principal Elizabeth Hill-Brodigan and attended by more than 100 people, including underage drinkers and juveniles, has led to child abuse charges against Hill-Brodigan and teacher Karly Anderson. The charges included child neglect, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and hosting a party with alcohol accessible to minors, a violation of Florida law. Both educators pleaded not guilty and requested jury trials. They have been placed on administrative leave by Brevard Public Schools. The party included incidents of a student pointing a gun at another, fights, underage drinking, drug use, and a girl driving with a high blood alcohol level. The party, part of a pattern of similar events at the principal’s home, was promoted on Snapchat and featured matching T-shirts with the theme “white lie”. The educators allegedly did not stop the party and were involved in its organization. Police were called multiple times due to noise complaints and disturbances caused by the partygoers. The events occurred despite promises to shut down the party. The party ended with a prank call reporting shots fired at a nearby skate park, allowing attendees to leave without facing police scrutiny.
