He was actively involved in the Chamber of Commerce, fundraising organizations, baseball leagues, and various foundations. Richardson was also a committed member of several community boards and religious organizations.
In recognition of his contributions, Richardson was inducted into the Jamestown College Hall of Fame and received accolades such as JayCees Boss of the Year and North Dakota Fundraising Executive of the Year. He was a beloved father of four children, with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Services for Richardson will be held at First United Methodist Church in Jamestown, with a memorial suggested for the Richardson Scholarships at the University of Jamestown or the church. The Eddy Funeral Home is overseeing the arrangements for the service.
