Skulls discovered on New Mexico property are not connected to missing woman investigation

Skulls found on a New Mexico property were determined to have been obtained online and are not related to the case of a missing woman. The Lea County Sheriff’s Office initially suspected a connection after a man made alarming statements and discarded objects, believed to be human bones, in the area. However, further investigation revealed that the skulls had ornamental pieces from outside the United States and were purchased online. The medical examiner confirmed the remains had no significance and would be cremated. Initially, there was speculation that the discovery may be related to Angela McManes, who went missing in 2019. However, the sheriff’s office later clarified that there was no actual link between the skulls and McManes, other than the proximity of her home to where the remains were found. The case remains open, with authorities continuing to investigate the origins of the skulls and any potential connection to other missing persons.
