West Fargo Sheyenne Advances to Class A Volleyball Championship

FARGO — West Fargo Sheyenne has secured a spot in the North Dakota Class A state volleyball championship for the third consecutive year. The two-time defending champions triumphed over Fargo Shanley in a thrilling semifinal match held at the Fargodome on Friday, winning in four sets with scores of 25-11, 25-17, 15-25, and 26-24.

The victory puts Sheyenne in a position to defend their title as they prepare for the championship match on Saturday at 7 p.m. They will face the winner of the semifinal between Bismarck Century and Bismarck Legacy.

The semifinal showdown was marked by intense competition, with Sheyenne showcasing their resilience despite dropping the third set. The team’s ability to regroup and close out the match highlights their championship caliber. Players displayed exceptional skills with strong serves, strategic plays, and solid teamwork, leading to their victory against a spirited Fargo Shanley team.

Alongside Class A action, the Class B semifinals featured teams South Prairie-Max and Medina-Pingree-Buchanan, as well as Langdon Area-Munich and Thompson, who competed for their own championship opportunity on Saturday at 5 p.m.
