Sheridan High School Bronc soccer player Zander Cleland has recently made a big decision regarding his future. Cleland has signed an athletic aid offer to compete at the South Dakota School of Mines. The senior midfielder, who has been playing soccer since he can remember, was drawn to the school’s mechanical engineering program.
In an interesting twist, Cleland actually reached out to the Hardrockers rather than the other way around. He provided them with videos showcasing his soccer skills and participated in a practice and scrimmage with the team. After impressing the coach with his foot skills and ability to predict and move the play forward, Cleland received a positive response.
The South Dakota School of Mines men’s soccer season recently came to an end, but Cleland is already looking forward to joining the team in the future. With his dedication to both athletics and academics, Cleland has found a college that aligns with his goals and aspirations. The Sheridan High School community is proud of Cleland’s achievements and looks forward to seeing him thrive at the next level.
