The North Dakota State Bison are gearing up for their last regular season game against the South Dakota Coyotes in Vermillion, South Dakota, this Saturday. The Bison, ranked number one for a record 200 weeks straight, are coming off a dominant win over Missouri State to clinch a share of the Missouri Valley Football Conference championship. They are determined to finish at the top alone this season.
Led by a strong rushing attack with standout performances from Barika Kpeenu and CharMar Brown, the Bison are confident heading into the game against the Coyotes, who are sitting at 8-2 overall and have a tough defense led by senior Nick Gaes and sophomore Mi’Quise Grace.
First-year Head Coach Tim Polasek is well aware of the challenge the Coyotes pose and has high praise for their coaching staff, particularly head coach Bob Nielson. He expects a physical game and knows the importance of containing Gaes and Grace to secure a victory.
The two teams have a rich history, with last year’s matchups resulting in a win for each team. The Bison seek revenge for their regular season loss, while the Coyotes aim to upset the number one ranked team once again.
Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, with viewers able to watch the game on ABC stations statewide. Fans can expect an intense showdown between two powerhouse programs in the Missouri Valley Football Conference.
