The North Dakota State Canvassing Board has officially certified the results of the 2024 general election, with two seats in the state House of Representatives meeting the demand recount threshold. Republican David Brien of District 9 and Democrat Mary Adams of District 18 will undergo recounts if requested within the next four days. Additionally, automatic recounts are scheduled for two supervisor positions in Soil Conservation District races. A total of 371,975 eligible voters participated in the election, resulting in a voter turnout of 62.61%. Over 95,000 absentee and vote-by-mail ballots were requested, with a return rate of 95.46%, and nearly 99,000 individuals participated in early voting. The State Canvassing Board will reconvene on Dec. 2 to review the results of the automatic recounts and any potential requested demand recounts. These results mark the conclusion of the 2024 general election in North Dakota, highlighting the engagement of voters and the electoral process in the state.
