The North Dakota State Canvassing Board officially certified the results of the 2024 general election on Wednesday, Nov. 20. Among the races that have met the demand recount threshold are those of Republican David Brien of District 9 and Democrat Mary Adams of District 18. Recounts must be requested within the next four days. Additionally, automatic recounts will take place for two supervisor of Soil Conservation District races.
A total of 371,975 eligible voters participated in the election, resulting in a statewide voter turnout of 62.61%. Over 95,000 absentee and vote-by-mail ballots were requested, with 95.46% being returned. Nearly 99,000 people also participated in early voting. The State Canvassing Board is scheduled to reconvene on Dec. 2 at 10 a.m. to review the results of the automatic recounts and any potential requested demand recounts.
