Grand Forks Red River’s football team had a strong showing in the North Dakota Division AA all-state selections, with seven players making the team. This included four first-team picks on offense, with quarterback Pearce Parks leading the way. Thomas Kraft also made the first-team defense as a defensive back. Devils Lake had two players selected, including Oliver Wirth as a first-team wide receiver.
Parks had an impressive season, throwing for almost 2,000 yards and 17 touchdowns, while Kraft ran for over 1,000 yards and 22 touchdowns. Cameron Klefstad and JB Walters also had standout seasons, contributing both on offense and defense for the Roughriders.
The team’s offensive line, led by Walters and Jake Foss, played a crucial role in their success, with Walters even earning a commitment to South Dakota State. Owen Hallanger also made an impact on defense with tackles for loss and sacks.
Despite missing some games due to injury, Mason Palmer of Devils Lake put up solid numbers at quarterback, while Wirth was a reliable receiver for his team.
Overall, the North Dakota Division AA all-state team showcases the talent and hard work of these high school football players. Treyton Mauch from Wahpeton was named Senior Athlete of the Year, and Vyrn Muir of Grand Forks Red River was honored as Coach of the Year for his leadership.
