A month after Donald Trump danced spontaneously at a rally, his moves have made their way to sporting events around the country. Trump danced for 40 minutes at a rally in Pennsylvania after two attendees fainted, leading to a trend of athletes incorporating his dance into their celebrations. San Francisco 49ers player Nick Bosa celebrated a sack with his teammates by dancing inspired by Trump. This was not the first time Bosa referenced Trump on the field, as he had previously been fined for wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat. UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones also mimicked Trump’s dance after his victory at UFC 309, with Trump smiling cage-side. In addition, NFL players such as Za’Darius Smith, Brock Bowers, and Calvin Ridley have been seen celebrating big plays by imitating Trump’s dance moves. The trend of incorporating Trump’s dance into sporting events highlights the influence and impact of his actions beyond politics and into popular culture.
