North Dakota volleyball faced off against (RV) South Dakota State on Saturday, with multiple milestones reached by senior players in their final home match. Despite a hard-fought effort, the Fighting Hawks fell to the Jackrabbits in three sets. Seniors Elizabeth Norris and Jarolin de los Santos Lugo achieved personal accolades, with Norris surpassing 2,000 career assists and Santos Lugo becoming the first player in the program’s DI era to record 30 aces and 100 blocks in a single season. The match was closely contested with 28 tied scores and 15 lead changes.
Now, the Hawks look ahead to their final match of the season on November 19, where they will face off against long-time rival North Dakota State. The two teams previously played on October 22, with NDSU coming out on top. The upcoming match will be broadcasted on the Summit League Network, with live stats available on FightingHawks.com. Despite the loss to South Dakota State, the Fighting Hawks displayed strong performances from players like Lauren Perugini, Vanessa Imoh, and Paige Barber.
