Beo String Quartet to Perform at North Dakota Museum of Art
Grand Forks, ND – The North Dakota Museum of Art proudly presents the Beo String Quartet in the second performance of its "Myra Foundation Presents: Concerts in the Galleries" series, set for 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 17. The ensemble, based in Pittsburgh, was founded by brothers Sean and Jason Neukom, who hail from Devils Lake, North Dakota, and were trained by their father, a renowned local music educator.
Known for their innovative, genre-blending style, the Beo String Quartet comprises cellist Ryan Ash and violinist Anthony Giordano. Their upcoming concert features a compelling array of works, including compositions by Bach, Haydn, and Brahms, alongside contemporary pieces by Philip Glass and a new composition titled "El Balcon" by Sean Neukom, inspired by a cherished childhood memory.
The quartet has earned accolades for their performance at New York’s Morgan Library and Museum, described by the New York Classical Review as "outstanding" and renowned for their artistry. With 65 world premieres to their name, the ensemble has gained recognition as a leading group among 21st-century international string quartets.
In addition to their concert, the Beo String Quartet will engage with the community through a free children’s concert at the Grand Forks Public Library on November 16 and workshops with the Northern Valley Youth Orchestras after their performance. Tickets for the concert are priced at $30 for members, $35 for non-members, and $10 for students and military personnel, with free admission for children 12 and under. Tickets can be reserved or purchased at the museum’s website or at the door.
