North Dakota sophomore Lauren Perugini achieved her sixth double-double of the season with 14 kills and 10 digs, despite the Fighting Hawks falling to Kansas City in three sets on Thursday. The loss brought UND’s record to 9-16 overall and 2-12 in Summit League play. Kansas City dominated the first set with a .297 attack percentage, leading to a 1-0 set advantage. Although UND fought back in the second set, Kansas City ultimately sealed the victory in the third set.
The Fighting Hawks will face unbeaten South Dakota State on Saturday in a senior day game where four seniors will be honored. In the previous matchup, SDSU defeated UND in four sets. The game can be viewed on the Summit League Network, with live stats available on FightingHawks.com.
Despite the loss, Perugini’s performance stood out, achieving her eighth career double-double with a .444 hitting percentage. Freshman Vanessa Imoh also contributed with six kills, while Izzie McCormick led with 15 digs. Senior Jarolin de los Santos Lugo is closing in on a milestone, needing three more blocks and an ace to achieve a 100-block, 30-ace season. Graduate setter Elizabeth Norris is also nearing 2,000 career assists, with 17 assists in the game.
