Trump and his supporters affirm that he is not a Nazi

After some Democrats compared President Donald Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally to a pro-Nazi event from 1939, Trump and his allies vehemently denied any resemblance to Hitler or Nazism. Former First Lady Melania Trump and campaign spokespersons defended Trump, stating that accusations of him being a Nazi or Hitler were false and politically motivated. Vice President Kamala Harris and her campaign have been critical of Trump’s policies and rhetoric, with Harris calling Trump a fascist. Trump has called Harris a fascist as well and made references to the Gestapo when discussing the Biden administration. Trump allies such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. suggested that comparing Trump to Hitler could potentially incite violence or assassination attempts. Reports have surfaced of Trump praising Hitler in private conversations, which he and his campaign deny. Despite these denials, the Democratic National Committee projected “Trump praised Hitler” onto Madison Square Garden during his rally. Trump’s former chief of staff John Kelly has also stated that Trump falls into the general definition of a fascist. Overall, the comparisons between Trump, Hitler, and Nazism have led to intense political debates and accusations on both sides of the political spectrum.
