Angie Rixen: Bringing You the Latest News, Sports Updates, and Job Opportunities


Angeline “Angie” Rixen, a beloved member of the Minot, North Dakota community, passed away at the age of 90 on October 26, 2024, surrounded by her family. Angie was born on July 6, 1934, in Havelock, North Dakota, and had a fulfilling life dedicated to education, family, and community service.

After graduating as salutatorian from St. Mary’s High School in 1952, Angie pursued a career in teaching and worked in various one-room schoolhouses in North Dakota. She was a loving wife to her husband Neil, a devoted mother to their six children, and an active member of the Minot Farmer’s Market for over 20 years.

Following Neil’s passing in 1997, Angie embarked on a new chapter in her life, becoming a chaplain at local hospitals and volunteering at Trinity CancerCare Center. She was also a breast cancer survivor who was deeply connected to helping others facing similar struggles.

Angie enjoyed traveling with her family and had a passion for playing bridge, solving puzzles, and crafting beautiful handiwork. She will be remembered for her dedication to her family, community, and faith.

Angie is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, along with her siblings and extended family. A funeral service will be held on November 2, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Foxholm, North Dakota.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Mary’s Catholic Church cemetery fund. Angie Rixen’s legacy of kindness, compassion, and service will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Published by The Minot Daily News on October 29, 2024.
