Colin Farrell completes marathon pushing a friend in a wheelchair

Colin Farrell participated in the Dublin Marathon to raise funds for DEBRA, an Irish charity that supports individuals with the genetic condition epidermolysis bullosa (EB), also known as butterfly skin. He pushed his friend Emma Fogarty, who has the condition, in her wheelchair for the final 4 kilometers of the race. Fogarty, who is Ireland’s oldest surviving person with the severe form of EB, was born without skin on her left foot and right arm and experiences painful blisters from the slightest touch. Despite not expecting to live past age 40, Fogarty celebrated her milestone birthday this year. Farrell and Fogarty aimed to raise €400,000 for DEBRA but are now close to reaching one million euros. They appeared on “The Late Late Show” to raise awareness for EB, with Farrell pushing Fogarty one kilometer for every decade of her life during the marathon. Fogarty expressed her gratitude for Farrell’s support during the race. The pair completed the marathon in just over 4 hours, with Farrell pushing Fogarty across the finish line. Their efforts have brought attention to EB and raised significant funds for those living with the condition.
