Dorothy (Thom) Hidy, a long-time resident of Jamestown, passed away recently at the age of 86. Hidy was known in the community for her involvement in numerous organizations and her kind-hearted nature.
Hidy was a member of the First United Methodist Church and volunteered at the church’s rummage sales for many years. She was also involved in the Jamestown Garden Club and the Elks Lodge, where she served as treasurer for 18 years. Hidy was known as a dedicated and hard-working member of these organizations, always willing to lend a helping hand.
In addition to her community involvement, Hidy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, and several grandchildren. Friends and family remember her as a devoted caregiver who always put others before herself.
Hidy’s passing has left a void in the Jamestown community, as she was a beloved and respected member of many organizations. Her legacy of kindness and dedication will live on through the many lives she touched.
A memorial service will be held in Hidy’s honor at the First United Methodist Church, where friends and family can come together to celebrate her life and legacy. The community is invited to attend and pay their respects to a woman who made a lasting impact on Jamestown.
