Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently visited the US to present Kyiv’s plan to end the war with Russia, meeting with President Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Donald Trump, and attending sessions at the UN general assembly. Zelenskyy urged his partners to work towards achieving a “shared victory for a truly just peace”. During his trip, he visited a Pennsylvania ammunition factory producing much-needed munitions for Ukraine. The UK foreign secretary, David Lammy, indicated ongoing negotiations with the White House to allow Ukraine to use Storm Shadow missiles against Russia. Fake news websites registered in the UK are allegedly spreading disinformation about western companies in Ukraine. Meanwhile, Russia launched new strikes in Kharkiv, hitting high-rise buildings and leaving at least 21 wounded. Additionally, a firefighter was killed by a Ukrainian drone in the Russia-controlled Luhansk region. The ongoing conflict in Ukraine remains a pressing issue, with Zelenskyy’s visit to the US highlighting the need for international support to achieve peace.
