Kamala Harris will make an appearance on the season nine finale of “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” to advocate for voting. The episode, set to air this Friday on Paramount+, will feature Harris encouraging Americans to register to vote, emphasizing the importance of using their voices in the upcoming November election. Harris, known for her advocacy for human and civil rights as well as marriage equality, has previously hosted a Pride month reception and been a champion for LGBTQ+ rights.
This is not the first time a politician has appeared on the show, with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Speaker Nancy Pelosi making appearances in previous seasons to encourage voting. The show itself has also been a vocal advocate for voting rights, with reminders to register to vote given at the end of each episode.
The grand finale will see all eight queens return for a “Variety Extravaganza”, with the winning queen earning $200,000 for their chosen charity. Three Benefactress badges are up for grabs, and a new voting twist could change the outcome. As of part 1 of the finale, Roxxxy Andrews leads with five Benefactress badges, followed by Jorgeous and Plastique Tiara tied at four. RuPaul has hinted that any queen has the potential to win the crown and be inducted into the Drag Race Hall of Fame.
