The third SCAD Film Festival in Lacoste, Provence, recently concluded with a notable lineup of guests including UK writer and director, Martin McDonagh, English actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. The event, organized by the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), featured open-air screenings, interviews, and award presentations honoring industry professionals such as Miranda Richardson, Janty Yates, Sam Taylor-Johnson, and Jean-Pierre Jeunet. The festival, which is free for the public to attend, showcased a special screening of Back to Black with producer Alison Owen and director Taylor-Johnson. SCAD, known for its innovative approach to education, has been a major investor in the revitalization of Lacoste since 2002, transforming the medieval town into a thriving cultural hub with plans for further expansion. To get insights on this year’s event, we sat down with Andra Reeve-Raab, Dean of the School of Film & Acting at SCAD. With a successful lineup of screenings, interviews, and awards, the SCAD Film Festival continues to be a premier event for celebrating the art of filmmaking and honoring industry professionals.
