Top US Paralympic Games team spot up for grabs for ND All-Americans | News, Sports, Jobs


Two North Dakota athletes, Isabelle Hogness and Samuel Winter, are preparing to compete at the Paralympic Track and Field trials in Miramar, Florida, from July 18-20. Both athletes have overcome physical challenges to excel in their respective sports. Hogness, who has spina bifida, is a wheelchair racer and has competed in triathlons since age 11. Winter, who had a stroke at birth and has cerebral palsy, is an ambulatory athlete who excels in multiple track and field events. Both athletes have qualified for the U.S. Paralympic Track and Field trials and have been recognized for their performances as part of the 2023 U.S. Paralympics Track & Field High School All-American List. They are both members of Great Lakes Adaptive Sports (GLASA) and train virtually with their coaches to prepare for the upcoming trials. Despite facing challenges, they have shown resilience and determination in pursuing their dreams of competing at the highest level of their sport. Both athletes express excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to compete at the national trials and are looking forward to giving their best effort. Their journey serves as an inspiration to others, showing that with hard work and perseverance, anything is possible.
