Jose Santa Rodriquez, a 27-year-old man, has been arrested in South Fargo for felony vandalism, criminal trespassing, possession of marijuana, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. The arrest came after he was caught vandalizing businesses in the area, including throwing a rock at an ATM and shattering the touchscreen.
On July 2, Officer Schumann responded to a delayed report of vandalism and learned that Rodriquez had been removed from the same business the day before, although his identity was not confirmed at the time. Later that day, three officers were called to another business where Rodriquez had caused a disturbance. This time, officers were able to confirm his identity and link him to the vandalism incidents.
Upon reviewing CCTV footage and previous calls for service, Officer Schumann was able to fully confirm that Rodriquez was responsible for the vandalism. The arrest highlights the importance of law enforcement following up on previous incidents and connecting the dots to solve cases.
Rodriquez is currently facing charges for his actions and is in custody. The Fargo Police Department is reminding the public to report any suspicious activity immediately to prevent further damage to businesses in the area.
